About Us

Established in 2024, the Nepalese Society of Sudbury began as a modest gathering of families seeking to preserve their heritage in a new land. Over the years, it has evolved into a robust institution representing over 3,000 members. From our first Dashain celebration in a small community hall to hosting city-wide galas at Place des Arts, our journey reflects the resilience and vibrancy of the Nepalese diaspora in Northern Ontario.

Message from President

"Namaste and Warm Greetings,

It is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome you to the Nepalese Society of Sudbury (NSS). Since our inception, NSS has stood as a pillar of support and a beacon of cultural heritage for the growing Nepalese diaspora in Northern Ontario.

Our organization is built upon the fundamental principles of Unity, Heritage, and Progress. We believe that while our roots may be in the Himalayas, our branches can flourish here in the Canadian Shield. We are an institution dedicated to holistically empowering our members—whether they are students navigating a new academic landscape, professionals establishing their careers, or families raising the next generation of Nepali-Canadians.

In the coming years, we aim to strengthen our institutional framework, expand our welfare programs, and deepen our collaboration with local Canadian authorities to ensure our community is not just present, but thriving.

I invite you to join hands with us. Let us build a community that is resilient, inclusive, and proud of its identity.

Sincerely,

Sujan Neupane
